Someone Else’s Checklist

Take a look at your checklist and decide whether it’s yours or someone else’s.

If the checklist is yours, the tasks will be the meaningful work that you seek to complete. You’ll see interesting projects, goals, and activities that you added to your list. The things that you find most important.

You may look and find, however, that you are tasked with completing someone else’s checklist. Each item will be something important to someone else. Other priorities but not yours. You’ll spend your time accomplishing the wants and needs of everyone else. The problem with this is that you will run out of time to do the work that means something to you.

Take a critical look at your work.

Who’s checklist are you working on right now?
