Quick, answer this question with the first thing that comes to mind.
What are the two most important skills we can teach to students right now?
My immediate response would be self-management and self-regulation.
As I’ve reflected this year, I have found that many students are struggling with or completely missing these skills. I’m pretty sure the inconsistency of the past few years has caused students to need more guidance and direction than ever before. Students might be struggling academically, socially, or emotionally, but much of it is rooted in self-regulation and self-management.
How do we help our students manage and regulate themselves?
