Blanket Forts & Engaged Readers

It’s a simple but effective idea. Each student brings in a blanket (or towel) and uses it in conjunction with their desk or other desks to build a fort in the classroom.

Students then bury themselves deep in the recesses of the classroom fort to engage in reading.

Flashlights optional.

And guess what? The classroom fort impacts engagement.

Try it this week and get your students more engaged in reading.
