The arts help us to comprehend, explore and communicate
what it means to be human. They help us to unpack and express
our human experience. This is what the arts are for. This is what they do.
When educators help their students to connect meaningfully to the arts,
regardless of the form,
they are helping their students connect meaningfully to their humanness.
They are fostering joy and connection.
This is why the arts matter.
