Learning to Shout

Do you remember the Silhouette sketch from the classic TV show, The Electric Company? Two people in silhouette would join together to read a word. The first person would share the beginning sound with the second person sharing the remaining portion of the word, before both shared the entire word in unison.

Shhhh.

Out.

Shout.

Two people using their collective voice.

Something that we need to help our students with even more.

Some students don’t know how to use their voices.

Many are not encouraged to use their voices.

We need to help our students learn to shout…

To express themselves…

To advocate for themselves…

To collectively use their voice to make positive change.

Learning to shout.

Shhhh.

Out.

Shout.
