The Five Yard Line

Inspired by Seth today.

There are occasions when you get the ball on the five yard line.

A gift. A lucky bounce or mistake by your opponent. Something goes right and you only need a few yards to reach the end zone or, at least kick a field goal. A single, perfectly executed play can lead you to the promised land.

On other occasions, you get the ball on the five yard line.

95 yards to go. You will face adversity. You will need to perform over and over again to reach the end zone. Play after play. You will need to work at executing your game plan and you may need some luck too.

Most of the time, you will not be able to decide on which five yard line you are starting from.

You just need to be ready to execute no matter what.
