Comfortable with the Uncomfortable

Being uncomfortable is part of the process.

We rarely, if ever, start off great

or even good.

Bad starts are the norm

not the exception.

Whenever we try

something new

or something different

we have to remember

that it’s probably

going to be uncomfortable.

If we accept the uncomfortableness

as part of the process,

if we remain patient,

if we just keep taking steps,

forwards, sideways, or even backwards

eventually our

uncomfortableness

will diminish

and if we are lucky

maybe even vanish.

If it does,

then we know it’s time to get uncomfortable again.

Being uncomfortable is good.

It means we are growing.

It means we are trying.

Trying to grow

is the most important work we can do.

Growing comes with growing pains.

They are uncomfortable.

Enjoy the discomfort.
