Learning About Students

I’ve written before about our responsibility to create opportunities for students.

It is imperative that we give students the chance to answer two questions:

What do you want the world to know about you?

How do you want to share it?

If we can ask students these two questions, we can give them opportunities to create authentic work and share it with others.

For some students, this will mean sharing their voice through a written blog.

For other students, it will mean sharing their paintings or drawings with the world.

Some may make films and screen them for the world.

Some students might create music and play it for the world.

It could be any number of things they might create and share.

Engage students in their passions.

Allow them to engage with the world…

to share their passions…

to create meaningful, authentic work.

Let the world learn about students as much as students learn about the world.
