There is always a lot of chatter about whether the arts are important. The arts are all the ways that humans have developed to communicate effectively with one another. I’d say that giving students time and space to explore and understand how humans effectively communicate with one another is pretty important.
Learning how to effectively communicate impacts everything from mental health, relationships, marketing, life saving measures, and any other meaningful connection that we are trying to foster in our lives. The way we communicate is, in one form or another, through the arts. Effective communication is a skill that will always be needed. The arts are how we communicate, The arts will always be needed.
