Professional Learning Culture

There is a professional learning culture in your school. It may be really positive or it might be terrible, but it definitely exists either way.

If you are looking for a simple way to improve the professional learning culture in your school, it starts with sharing. Give colleagues the opportunity to see what other teachers are doing in their classrooms, and let the inspiration fly. Start with an Idea Walk through classrooms, where each participant looks for one idea to implement in their own classroom. Highlight a strategy or room feature in a weekly email. Simply give teachers the chance to visit another classroom and talk to another teacher for twenty minutes.

All of these strategies can help improve professional learning culture in your school. Make it a regular part of your PD schedule.
