It doesn’t seem like we are any closer, but we are.
There are some students who have thrived throughout all of this, and some who haven’t. But kids are resilient.
Most of them will be ok. And we will work to support those who are not.
Educators are also resilient. Most of them will be ok. Not all but most.
And we will work to support those who are not.
After 10 months, we have adapted and are putting forth our best efforts at making this work.
Some see kids who are “behind” and struggling to focus.
I see kids who are exactly where they should be and focusing on what’s important.
Families have grown closer; kids more resilient.
Teachers have learned new ways to teach, and more importantly, to connect.
We are closer than we’ve been.
We will be ok.
