There has recently been much discussion on Twitter about edurockstars. I’ve always struggled with this term. After all, as educators, we go to work to do a job each day. We want to ensure the best possible learning environment for each and every student.
I don’t think that anyone entered this profession in order to become a rock star. I think if that was the goal, I think they would have tried to become rock stars.
As educators, it is incumbent upon all of us not to elevate anyone to rockstar status. What I loved about joining Twitter in the first place was the fact that everyone has the opportunity to grab the mic. And we need to continue to share, collaborate, and learn from each other.
Let’s continue to give everyone the chance to rock the mic!
