Frogs Versus Birds

Inspired by a recent podcast featuring David Epstein talking about his new book Range.

Frogs are on the ground. They are in the muck. They only see that which is right in front of them. They can solve problems but only if they are right there.

Birds fly majestically above everything. There is a reason it’s called a bird’s eye view. They are able to survey the entire landscape, and hold a much broader scope.

Remember the path of the bird and try to fly at some point, seeing the larger picture.
