Winning and Losing

We often look at situations from a lens of winning versus losing.

Negotiation experts often teach a win-win strategy instead of win-lose interactions, or even worse, lose-lose situations.

We too often focus on what the losers did wrong to lose a sporting event or what advantage the winners had in order to win.

A quick search of #winning or #losing on social media will bring up hundreds of posts from the last hour.

We seem to be obsessed with winning and losing.

We are focused on the wrong thing.

Instead of devoting all of our energy to winning and losing, let’s make sure that we are always learning.

If we are always learning, then the winning and losing won’t matter.
