In his blog posted titled, The wasteful fraud of sorting for youth meritocracy: Stop Stealing Dreams, Seth Godin asks, “Let’s talk about school and figure out what we’re trying to create.”
As an art teacher, one thing I’m trying to create is students who are comfortable trying to get their ideas out of their head and into some concrete form so that they can share and discuss them with others.
Nearly all, if not all people, who have done anything of value, have been able to do this successfully.
It’s a skill worth practicing.
What is one thing you are trying to create?
It’s a question worth asking.
