The One and Only Productivity Rule That Matters

The One and Only Productivity Rule That Matters

As we head into the first full week of January, the “new year, new me” energy is in full swing.

Some of us hold our spiffy new planners with a death grip. Others are helplessly watching by as the heavy weight of curriculum, lesson plans, and everything else slowly washes those resolutions away. Maybe you downloaded a new task manager, bought a color-coded notebook, or have that new digital calendar to stay organized.

Whatever you are using, however, doesn’t matter without one specific rule.

Be intentional.

That’s it. It’s not a hack or a shortcut. It is a conscious choice to stop letting life happen to you, and instead direct it.

If you approach all of your plans with intention, you too can become way more productive this year. It means being more proactive than reactive. Don’t just plop down on the couch to stream a show. Be intentional about how you spend your time at home. Think clearly about what you add to your work calendar. You must ask yourself, is this important work that I should be doing? Look at your To-Do list items and determine what holds the most value. Decide all of these things with purpose.

Be intentional.

It’s the one rule that can help you to have your best year yet.

Let’s start with a simple call to action.

What’s the one action you will take tomorrow with complete intention?

Now you are ready.
