180 Days

180 Days

It’s a number based on days past.

We start on day one and celebrate milestones.

The end of a marking period. A special holiday. The 100th day of school.

As we get closer to 180 days, we begin the countdown to the last day.

180 days marks another year of learning, another year of growth, and another year of time slipped by.

Today, as we celebrate 180 days, we need to focus on the growth.

We often take for granted how students change in those 180 days. They grow as learners. They grow as friends. Sometimes, the growth is physical. They are certainly different people on Day 180 than they walked in on Day 1.

We need to take a step back to appreciate it. Day 180 brings chaos. Yearbooks. Cleaning up. Kickball games. Class parties.

Amidst the chaos though, take a simple look at the students in front of you. See how much they’ve changed. See how much they’ve grown.

180 days better.
