Let’s get to our Round 3 Matchup in the Reflection bracket:
Strategy #5: Reflection Walkabout (page 72, The Secret Sauce)
Join a colleague to start or end your week with a reflection walkabout. Find a partner (preferably someone who you don’t always get the chance to talk to) and walk around your building or campus, reflecting on your week. Start with two simple questions: 1. What went well? and 2. What didn’t go well? Think about and share how you can improve for the upcoming week. (Thanks to James Moffett for sharing this strategy!)
Strategy #6: Reflect, Review, To-Do (page 87, The Secret Sauce)
Take a few minutes at the end of the day to complete this three-part activity. Ask students to reflect on their learning for the day, review what they accomplished during the day, and complete their To-Do list for the next day. This short exercise gives students a chance to contemplate their own learning, as well as have an action plan for how to continue their learning. Plus, the To-Do list can help students practice organization and planning skills!
