We can wait for the guidance and answers to be provided, and they might certainly come after the fact. Or they may be provided, and then quickly changed when they don’t work out.
My guess, is that WE will be figuring out how a school should run in this type of environment. It will be our call to decide how to keep students and staff safe, while trying to ensure that learning is taking place.
All of the responsibility will fall on the shoulders of those in the trenches. Teachers and school leaders. Blame will be assigned if it doesn’t go right. And if it does, those in charge will share a congratulations and pat themselves on the back for allowing those doing the work to make their own decisions.
While we are left to figure it out, we will also need to invent it ourselves. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
