It’s Friday afternoon as I write this and I’m physically and emotionally drained.
Opening week exhaustion.
A school holiday, followed by staff returning, an opening half day for students, and two full days of school.
And already, I’m exhausted.
Minor hiccups. Inbox piling up. Working through new schedules, cafeteria procedures, and dismissal routines.
Oh, and the ending of all endings to finish the week. Spending nearly 45 minutes locating a child who never got off the bus. Panic sets in until I hear that the child has been reunited with parent.
As I said, I’m exhausted.
I’m going to get to bed early tonight, enjoy time with my family, spend some time outdoors.
And on Monday, I’m going to do it all over again.
There’s nothing quite like opening week exhaustion.
