While not able to visit San Antonio this week, I have been following #ISTE17 and #NotAtISTE on Twitter. It’s no surprise that I have been able to learn a great deal just by following these two hashtags.
I have noticed that #FlipgridFever was one of the more popular hashtags throughout the ISTE event. For those unfamiliar, Flipgrid is an online tool which allows for the posting of topics, and sharing of video responses to engage users in conversation. Many teachers are utilizing the tool to create video-based discussion for students.
The T-Shirts that Flipgrid gave out during the event proudly proclaimed “STUDENT VOICE.” While I can appreciate this sentiment, I believe that Flipgrid also has the power to amplify TEACHER VOICE as well.
With this in mind, I’d like to put down an open challenge to all educators out there. Let’s trend it using the hashtag #FlipgridChallenge.
It’s simple.
- Go to the #4OCF Flipgrid here and share your response to this question: What is the one thing you are learning this summer to improve learning for your students in September?
- When sharing your response, challenge 3 other educators you know to do the same. Be sure to share the video with them and use #FlipgridChallenge!
Let’s make sure that we show the world the power of TEACHER VOICE! Join the #FlipgridChallenge today!
