When you are in the trenches, it can feel as if you are not making a difference.
Today was one of those days for me.
It feels like you are saying the same things over and over…
speaking to the same students over and over…
and stressing about the same problems over and over again.
On days like this, it’s hard to feel any other way.
At the end of the day, I try to remember that every word matters.
When the message is consistent, and students know that it comes from a place of caring, it will eventually sink in.
What I realize is that for every day like this, there are many more where the message reaches its intended audience.
Being in the trenches provides an opportunity to make a difference.
And there is no other place I’d rather be.
