Wow, three years.
ROGUE Leader: Make the Rules, Inspire Others, and Take Control of Your Own Professional Development Destiny has officially been out in the world for three years. It’s hard to believe! This book followed The Four O’Clock Faculty and was born out of my own frustrations with traditional professional development. I know that there has to be a better way, a way to make PD meaningful, relevant, and perhaps even… enjoyable.
I poured my heart into ROGUE Leader, sharing my own experiences and the READI method – relevance, embeddedness, alignment, design, and impact – as a framework for rethinking professional development. It’s not just about fixing broken programs and systems; it’s about sparking a movement, and shifting our mindset about professional learning.
The response over these past three years has been incredible. I love hearing from educators who have used the READI method to transform their PD, or seeing conversations sparked by the book, knowing that it’s making a real difference in how people approach professional development. It confirms what I’ve always believed: we all deserve meaningful opportunities to grow, to really hone our craft, and to become the best versions of ourselves.
This third anniversary is a chance to celebrate the journey and to recommit to the mission of ROGUE Leader. It’s a reminder that professional development shouldn’t be something we dread, but something we embrace. So, thank you to everyone who has read the book, shared it with others, and joined the ROGUE Leader movement. Here’s to many more years of going ROGUE and taking control of our own Professional Development destinies.
If you haven’t yet, pick up a copy and join the conversation. Let’s make PD meaningful and personally relevant! Let’s continue to inspire others to do the same!
