I was meeting with a new kindergarten teacher, and a former kindergarten teacher on a recent afternoon.
The conversation turned to the cleanliness habits of four and five year olds. There was discussion of glue on seats, excess soap in the bathroom, and other such messes.
The statement which made me laugh out loud however, was that the most popular question that a kindergarten teacher must ask on a regular basis is:
Why is this wet?
Homework. Shoelaces. Pants. Lunchboxes. Hair.
Somehow, in kindergarten, everything ends up wet at some point or another.
